Hailey Bieber gave the late 1990s trend a high-end Hollywood twist last night as she arrived for the 2025 GQ Men of the Year celebration at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
The creator of Rhode wore a black, vintage Gucci nude dress. The translucent outfit featured strips of glittering crystals throughout, a low, open back, and an elongated halter top. Bieber made a bold statement by wearing the translucent gown over a black, shimmering Gucci by Tom Ford thong that featured the brand’s iconic GG emblem adorned with sparkling crystals.
(The peekaboo Gucci thong, which made its gorgeous premiere on Ford’s Gucci Spring 1997 runway, has been worn by several celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Solange Knowles.)
The red carpet costume appeared to be a reference to Gillian Anderson’s 2001 Vanity Fair Oscars party outfit, which featured Eduardo Lucero’s thong-baring, open-back style.
Bieber’s black mule sandals were seen through a high leg slit at the back of the dress. The model accessorized her ensemble with a flirtatious Y2K updo and strings of diamond jewelry, which included dangling earrings, a bracelet, and her well-known engagement ring from Justin.
She went to the party with her best friend, Kendall Jenner, who was dressed elegantly in black.
As one of the seven celebrities featured in this month’s issue of GQ, Bieber talked about raising Rhode, adjusting to motherhood, and juggling parenthood with her pop star husband. Stephen Colbert, Seth Rogan, SZA, Oscar Isaac, Clipse, and Sydney Sweeney were among the other celebrities in attendance. Thirty years of GQ Men of the Year were commemorated in the magazine edition and its celebration in Los Angeles.
