In an exclusive conversation with Moneycontrol.com, content creator and reality show star Apoorva Mukhija opened up about the emotional rollercoaster of The Traitors, the backlash following the India’s Got Latent controversy, and the strength she’s found in herself and her inner circle.Known for her storytelling style on YouTube and short-form videos, Apoorva revealed a more personal side—raw, reflective, and resolute.

On the Mental Toll of The TraitorsReality television isn’t all lights and cameras—it comes with a psychological burden, something Apoorva felt deeply during her time on The Traitors.”I rarely pray to God. And I have never said to God—that I am going to sleep today, wake me up tomorrow. Which is a very real life scenario—that I should die today. But everyday in the game, I was like, God, one more episode. One more episode.”

“It was too weird. It was too anxiety inducing.”On Dealing with Trolls and Threats After India’s Got LatentFollowing the India’s Got Latent controversy, Apoorva faced an intensified wave of online trolling and even threats. Yet, she credits her strong support system for helping her endure the pressure.

“It’s not like that. The intensity was different. The security threat was more. But I think I am surrounded by a very good support system. People and my friends—they are my family. I would be nowhere in life if I didn’t have them. That goes for everything. Every problem that has ever occurred. They are my core.””I was surrounded by great people. I have met great people. They are like—chill.”On Deleting Her Instagram PostsWhen she seemingly vanished from Instagram, fans speculated on what had happened. But Apoorva clears the air with characteristic calm.”I had archived it… I have unarchived it.”On the Biggest Lesson from The Traitors

More than just a game, The Traitors was a transformative experience for Apoorva.”I have personally just learnt to be more confident in myself. Because when I went to the show, I did not believe in myself at all. And Traitors really helped me see that I am more than just making one minute videos or just making story times on YouTube. And it made me realise that I just undervalue myself too much. So it just gave me a lot of confidence.”She also emphasizes the importance of good company, especially in difficult environments.”And I realised that you are in such a bad situation in life—if you just have like decent people around you—even in such a toxic environment, life just becomes fun. So I think I have understood that you should have friends in life.”
