Austin Butler and model Emily Ratajkowski have been spotted together several times in New York. Dating rumors are circulating. Now the “Elvis” star is addressing their alleged relationship.
In September, actor Austin Butler and model Emily Ratajkowski, who had just walked the Victoria’s Secret runway as an Angel, were spotted together at the Waverly Inn restaurant in New York’s West Village. Paparazzi photos show the two sitting close together in a booth, apparently deep in conversation. Shortly afterward, Butler and Ratajkowski also appeared together at an after-party for the premiere of his latest film, “Caught Stealing.”
Unsurprisingly, dating rumors quickly began circulating. After all, Butler has been officially single since his split with model Kaia Gerber. And Ratajkowski, divorced since 2022 and known at least since her nude appearance in the music video for “Blurred Lines,” has recently kissed several celebrity men, including Harry Styles, but is also considered unattached. Moreover, the two would make a truly beautiful couple.
But that’s allegedly not the case, as Austin Butler now clarifies in an interview with the US magazine “Vanity Fair.” “The truth is, I have a lot of friends, and we’re friends,” the 34-year-old explains regarding his and Ratajkowski’s relationship status. The photos taken at the restaurant, therefore, simply showed a dinner among good friends.
For Butler, however, the media attention surrounding the innocuous dinner was anything but pleasant. “I just wanted to hide,” the actor confessed to Vanity Fair. But he has no intention of restricting his life just to avoid such speculation: “Should I lead a confined, small life because I’m afraid of what other people will say or think?”
The actor, currently starring in the film “Eddington,” reveals in an interview with “Vanity Fair” that he is focusing on looking ahead and leaving past mistakes behind. Butler philosophized: “You only live once, so how do I make this hopefully a better friend and a better partner—and one day a better husband and a better father, God willing?”
