According to reports, Bollywood stars Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Bhumi Pednekar are now being watched by the ED.
Following their names appearing in the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) investigation into a Rs 200 crore money laundering case against multimillionaire scammer Sukesh Chandrashekhar, Bollywood actresses Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi found themselves embroiled in scandal. The agency had recorded the actresses’ statements after calling them. A number of the case’s twists, from the con artist purchasing pricey presents for them to Jacqueline’s private photos, garnered national attention.
Through his assistant Pinki Irani, multimillionaire scammer Sukesh Chandrashekhar allegedly attempted to win over these Bollywood celebrities, according to the Enforcement Directorate. According to reports, Sukesh, who is presently in judicial detention, gave Sara, Janhvi Kapoor, and Bhumi pricey presents.
“Janhvi Kapoor always had an agency managing all her work-related queries,” a close friend of Janhvi informed India Today in response to the reports. This included any requests for appearances and any questions about the event, which she would always direct to her management agency at Dharma Cornerstone Agency (DCA), with whom she had previously been affiliated.”
According to the same article, Janhvi was given a luxury designer bag when she went to the Bengaluru event of Sukesh’s wife, Leena Maria Paul. According to reports, the Dhadak actress opened Leena’s nail salon in 2021. For the appearance, she received Rs 18.94 lakh in compensation.
“Sukesh never had direct contact with Janhvi or any other member of her team. Janhvi’s agency handles all of her duties pertaining to her brand and other professional responsibilities. Such questions are not personally entertained by her,” the friend continued.
According to reports, Sukesh had also contacted Sara Ali Khan, who was pretending to be Suraj Reddy. As a gesture of goodwill, he had offered to buy her a fancy car. But the starlet had turned down the con artist’s advances. He had offered her a packet of chocolates, and she had accepted. The actress informed ED that Sukesh had sent her a Franck Muller watch in addition to the chocolates.
In January 2021, Bhumi was approached by Pinky, Sukesh’s associate. By stating that they wished to discuss a significant project with her, they had attempted to make friends. The actress from Badhaai Do also told the ED that neither Sukesh nor his friends had given her any anything.
