Ortega’s dark brown hair had a center part and was tied back, while deep red lips and dark eyes contrasted with her muted eyebrows. It was perfectly eerie for a show like Wednesday, in which she plays a teenager with psychic powers.
When she first landed the coveted role of Wednesday Addams in the Netflix series, Ortega said she was terrified to work with legendary director and producer Tim Burton.
“I was scared s—less,” she told the Radio Times. “I didn’t know what I was doing, I met Tim once before starting to create the character. There was just an obscene amount of pressure and worry and I wasn’t sleeping… We didn’t even know that people were going to watch it.”
Ultimately, Ortega found herself loving being on set, and fans were equally as thrilled with the product. She said she has “overwhelming gratitude” for the show’s success.
“We put in so much time and effort, the fact that people connect with it is very, very lucky and we’re very, very honored,” she noted.
