The actress Lindsay Lohan revealed that stricter laws regarding privacy is the primary reason she’s chosen to live in Dubai, where she’s experiencing a far different life than her days of being a tabloid fixture in Hollywood.
“It’s just far away from Hollywood, and I live a very normal life,” Lohan said during her recent appearance on “Live with Kelly and Mark.”
“There’s no worry of, like, I can’t go eat at this place ’cause someone’s gonna take a picture of my son,” she continued. “And it’s just, I feel very safe.”
Lindsay Lohan said strict privacy laws in Dubai is a big factor in why she lives there instead of Hollywood.
The actress has been living in Dubai since 2014. She married her husband, financier Bader Shammas, in 2022.
When host Kelly Ripa asked if there were photographers there, Lohan shocked her when she shared how strict the city is when it comes to taking pictures.
“No, it’s not legal,” Lohan responded. “You can’t even take a picture of someone else if you’re at a restaurant. You have to ask the person, which is a big difference from here.”“What? That’s incredible!” Ripa interjected with her mouth open in shock.Lohan stressed, “Yeah, privacy is key.”

Lohan told a shocked Ripa that she doesn’t worry about paparazzi in Dubai because it’s illegal to take pictures without the subject’s permission.
