Giulia Piscina Unveils Timeless Chic in Venice

Amidst a sea of bold statements and high-octane spectacle at the Venice Film Festival, Giulia Piscina attends the ‘Elisa’ premiere, proving the enduring power of classic elegance. Her sophisticated black gown is a masterclass in making a memorable entrance through understated, timeless design.

The gown is an elegant study in contrasting textures. Its bodice, a sleeveless, velvet-like material, is accented by a prominent, structured bow at the neckline, giving the top a classic yet playful feel. The rest of the dress flows seamlessly into a smooth, form-fitting silhouette that flares out gracefully at the hem, creating a subtle, mermaid-inspired cut. The simple black fabric allows her poise and the gown’s clean lines to take center stage, a refreshing departure from more heavily embellished looks.

Giulia wisely keeps accessories to a minimum, allowing the dress to speak for itself. She wears a delicate bracelet and a few rings, pieces that add a hint of sparkle without detracting from the overall effect. Her hair is pulled back into a sleek, sophisticated updo, and her makeup is kept natural and dewy, emphasizing her radiant smile and confident stride as she walks the red carpet.

It’s this refined and self-assured approach that helps certain popular celebrities stand out. While some outfits might capture a moment, Giulia Piscina’s choice is a reminder that impeccable style is forever. So, will we ever tire of the simple sophistication of a woman in a perfectly tailored black dress? We’d venture to say no.

Stella Maxwell Debuts White Crochet Gown in Venice

Never one to shy away from a bold statement, Stella Maxwell’s latest red carpet moment was a masterclass in textures—all while proving that white after Labor Day is a year-round affair.

Stella Maxwell turned heads as she led the glamour at the Duse premiere during the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. The former Victoria’s Secret model, 35, chose a breathtaking white gown that was anything but simple. The dress featured a delicate, almost architectural, netted crochet design over what appears to be a silky slip, creating a layered effect that was both modest and daring. A sharp thigh-high slit on one side offered a flash of leg, a classic red carpet move that never gets old. The most dramatic element, however, lay at the hemline: a cascade of voluminous feathered details that gave the sleek silhouette a touch of unexpected, playful drama.

Maxwell’s styling was a study in less-is-more elegance. She paired the intricate gown with sleek, pointed-toe white heels that elongated her frame and continued the monochromatic theme. Accessories were kept to a minimum, allowing the dress to remain the undisputed star of the show. Her hair, a cascade of sun-kissed blonde waves, was styled to look effortlessly windswept, while her makeup focused on a bold, smoky eye that added intensity to her gaze. The overall mood was one of cool confidence—a supermodel in her element, owning the moment with a casual pose and a powerful attitude.

It’s a look that perfectly balances high-fashion artistry with a hint of bohemian flair. So, are we witnessing a new era of textured glam, or is this just Stella Maxwell’s signature brand of effortless chic proving it can stand alone?

Maia Mitchell Attends ELLE Next Gen Awards 2025

Maia Mitchell brought a quiet kind of drama to Sydney’s ELLE Next Gen Awards—her cream-pleated gown whispered old Hollywood, but the mood was unmistakably modern.

There’s something about Maia Mitchell’s red carpet presence that resists the usual flashbulb frenzy. At the 2025 ELLE Next Gen Awards in Sydney, she didn’t just arrive—she glided. In a sea of sequins and sculptural silhouettes, Mitchell opted for restraint, and in doing so, made the loudest statement of the night.

Her sleeveless cream gown—unconfirmed designer at press time—was a study in verticality. Layered pleats cascaded from a deep neckline to the floor, creating a columnar silhouette that felt both Grecian and editorial. The fabric, likely silk chiffon or a similar airy weave, caught the light in soft ripples, never shouting, always suggesting. It’s the kind of dress that doesn’t need embellishment because the architecture speaks for itself.

Mitchell kept accessories minimal, letting the gown breathe. No visible jewelry competed with the neckline’s plunge, and her footwear remained discreet beneath the hem—likely a nude sandal or tonal pump. The absence of excess was the point: this was a look built on silhouette and serenity, not sparkle.

In a landscape saturated with spectacle, Maia Mitchell’s appearance at the ELLE Next Gen Awards was a reminder that elegance doesn’t need volume—it needs vision. For more moments like this, explore our curated archive of celebrity style.

Sydney Sweeney Has Joined the Best Actress Oscar Race for ‘Christy’

Sydney Sweeney, for her portrayal of trailblazing female boxer Christy Martin, received a prolonged standing ovation following the film’s world premiere on Friday.

A thin best actress Oscar race was jolted on Friday afternoon by the Toronto International Film Festival’s world premiere of David Michod’s Christy, a drama centering on a performance by Sydney Sweeney as the trailblazing female boxer Christy Martin, which was greeted with a prolonged standing ovation in the Princess of Wales Theater. Sweeney, who was also a producer of the film, gives a committed, showy, impressive turn as Martin — one that Martin herself has vocally applauded, including during an emotional post-screening Q&A — and believe it or not, I think she may get nominated.

Sweeney, who is just 27, became a world-famous actress and sex symbol through the HBO drama series Euphoria and The White Lotus, both of which brought her Emmy nominations. Recently, though, she has become a polarizing person, with her political affiliation, her dating life and, yes, her jeans commercial, all causing a lot of controversy. But even her skeptics, upon seeing Christy, may have to acknowledge her considerable commitment and talent (which was previously most evident in the little-seen 2023 TV film Reality, in which she played American intelligence leaker Reality Winner, and for which she deserved an Emmy nomination).

In Christy, Sweeney, donning short black hair and a muscular physique that she built through diet, exercise and boxing training over a period of months, looks nothing like herself as Martin, née Salters, a West Virginian who stumbled into a boxing career in the 1980s and dominated her sport as no woman had before — all while remaining a closeted lesbian and suffering increasingly terrible abuse at the hands of her considerably older coach/husband Jim (Ben Foster, also unrecognizable).

The film’s depiction of a female fighter’s rise is somewhat familiar — we’ve seen variations of it before with Michelle Rodriguez in Karyn Kusama’s Girlfight (2000), Hilary Swank in Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby (2004) and Halle Berry in Bruised (2020), which Berry herself directed — and a film about a gifted female athlete being subjected to horrific domestic abuse has also been done before, very impressively, in I, Tonya (2017). But the performances by Sweeney, as the lead, and Foster, in support, as well as the specifics of the true story that inspired Christy, help to keep this one engaging and memorable.

In terms of Christy’s awards fate, a lot will depend on the abilities of Black Bear, one of the production companies behind it, to effectively distribute and campaign for it; Christy will be the first film ever released through the company’s new distribution arm, which has given it an awards-friendly theatrical release date of Nov. 7. Fairly or not, it will also hinge upon Sweeney’s willingness and ability to address the extracurricular things that are currently distracting people from her work.

Arden Cho On Upcoming K-Pop Thriller ‘Perfect Girl’?

Arden Cho is riding a wave thanks to the record-breaking success of Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, in which she voices the character Rumi.

The actress and singer is soon to star with Adeline Rudolph in another KPop-themed project in the shape of horror-thriller Perfect Girl, which as we revealed yesterday has newly added international KPop star Jeon Somi to its cast in her first acting role.

The former BlackList script has been described as “Scream meets Black Swan” and charts the story of a new K-Pop super group preparing for its debut, only to see its members mysteriously come under attack after the arrival of a talented new performer. Cho is a producer on the movie alongside Badlands and John Wick outfit Thunder Road.

Cho told Deadline of Jeon Somi’s casting: “This film is so huge, and we had an extensive casting process. We had some really incredible talents audition, but we’re really excited about Jeon Somi. She’s so talented, has such a big range. She’s not just a phenomenal dancer and singer, but she really did bring a very cool, fresh approach to the role as an actress. I’m really excited to see her debut for this.”

The movie will also feature six original tracks “blending the worlds of music and film”. No word yet whether Jeon Somi or Cho will contribute to the soundtrack.

“The whole mystery will be, who is our villain”, Arden Cho says of the film’s premise. “That’s kind of the fun of it. You get to see these beautiful, talented, and complex characters and we’re not going to know who the villain is or who we should think it is. The script is a fabulous adventure and we hope the audience will be on the edge of their seats wondering.”

Production is slated to begin October 27th in Asia with Hong Won-ki (Goedam) directing from a script by Lynn Q. Yu. Following its phenomenal global success, will KPop Demon Hunters inform or be reflected in Perfect Girl?

“The wave of love and support for KPop Demon Hunters has been truly incredible,” Cho told us. “I think the greatest part of the success is showing the world that culturally specific stories, new IP, and Asian leads, are not something to be scared of. I think quite often there’s this pressure that you have to have a big star leading a film for it to be successful. Oftentimes, as Asian Americans, we’re kind of seen as a risky investment or a risky project, but I think the success of KPop Demon Hunters shows us that maybe we’re not a risk anymore. Maybe people really love our stories. So, I’ve been very confident about Perfect Girl since I’ve known about the project.”

Despite only just turning 40, Cho, who was born in Texas to Korean immigrant parents, says she wants to give back at this stage in her career and help nurture talent and provide platforms for the likes of Jeon Somi to enter the industry: “I feel like I’m sort of stepping into this era where I want to be like a big sister to a lot of like the younger Asian-American talent and the Asian talent. I feel like it’s something I didn’t have in the beginning stages of my career. And I feel that fits with that message of KPop Demon Hunters, which is all about doing it together.”

Cho, also known for series including Teen Wolf and Chicago Med, says she hasn’t had word yet about the next steps for the hit franchise, which follows a world-renowned K-Pop girl group as they balance their lives in the spotlight with their secret identities as demon hunters. The movie has had more than three billion global streams on Netflix.

“We’re all waiting for those calls,” Arden Cho says. “There’s been so many rumors bumping around. We were just saying on Good Morning America that the kids will riot if we don’t announce a sequel shortly. Hopefully there will be a good announcement soon.”

It’s been rumoured online that the hit movie could get a straight sequel, a live action version or even a stage musical. Does Cho have an inkling of the franchise’s direction?

“Who knows? I’m such a fan of animation and the animation world that Sony and Netflix built. So I hope for a sequel or a prequel. I hope that it lives in that space. But who knows. That’s up to the creative masterminds.”

Arden Cho told Good Morning America earlier this week that she’d love any potential sequel to explore her character Rumi’s family background, which viewers come to learn in the movie is complicated, as Rumi is part-demon.

“I’d love to see where Rumi’s family is from,” Cho said on the ABC show. “I’d love to know the story of how [Rumi’s human] mom and [demon] dad met and how HUNTR/X formed, and then we’ve got to go find [demon character] Jinu — well, or save him.”

Arden Cho is next heading to Seattle to shoot indie movie Cheap AF with Margaret Cho before getting started on Perfect Girl in late October.

Taylor Swift Not Attending MTV VMAs 2025?

Taylor Swift will miss the 2025 VMAs ahead of The Life of a Showgirl’s release in October, E! News has learned, a departure from the last three years where she had a front-row seat.

The life of a showgirl sometimes means having to miss an award ceremony or two. As Taylor Swift prepares for the release of her new The Life of a Showgirl album in Oct. 3, she is opting to skip the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday, Sept. 7, E! News has learned.

Indeed, although Taylor is up for Artist of the Year alongside Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen and The Weeknd, she will not be in attendance at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, to see who will take home the Moon Person trophy.

Don’t try and come for Taylor’s job, though. After all, she could still make history from afar. The “Karma” singer and Beyoncé are currently tied for the artists with the most VMAs ever awarded with 30, and if Taylor is to take the cake this year, she will officially become the most decorated artist since the ceremony’s inception in 1984.

Though Taylor won’t be able to make it to see the major possibility unfold in person, it comes during a busy time for her family. Travis Kelce, to whom Taylor got engaged last month, is set to kick off the NFL season for the Kansas City Chiefs tonight, Sept. 5, in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil.

The 2025 VMAs ceremony marks Taylor’s first time missing the event since 2021, and in the recent years she has had some very major moments at the ceremony. Last year, Taylor made the first public acknowledgement of Travis as her then-boyfriend while accepting her award for Video of the Year for “Fortnight” with Post Malone.

To uproarious applause, Taylor confirmed, “That one person was my boyfriend, Travis.” “This video seems very sad when you watch it, but it was actually the most fun video to make,” Taylor said while accepting her award last year, noting that between takes she could “always just hear someone cheering, like, ‘Whoo!’ from across the studio.”

To uproarious applause, Taylor confirmed, “That one person was my boyfriend, Travis.” And in 2022, Taylor began her tradition of grand album announcements by kicking off her Midnights era while accepting the same award for “All Too Well: The Short Film.”

As she told fans while accepting the award at the time ahead of the album, “I had sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous, and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you.”

Kartik Aaryan Chooses Alibaug for Dream Home?

Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan invests in a 2,000 sqft plot at Alibaug’s Chateau de Abhinandan Lodha, planning to build his dream home near Mumbai.

Kartik Aaryan has made a significant move in his real estate journey by purchasing a 2,000 sqft plot for Rs 2 crore at Chateau de Alibaug, a premier coastal development by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL). This marks his first-ever land investment.

Located amidst lush greenery, Chateau de Alibaug provides a coastal lifestyle complete with modern amenities. Residents can enjoy a rooftop garden, a lounge room, a reflexology track, a pool deck, a multipurpose hall, and two clubhouses for recreation and community activities.

Upon announcing his purchase, Kartik Aaryan expressed his excitement, stating, “Alibaug has become one of the most exciting places to invest in today, close to Mumbai. I plan to build my own home there. This is the first time I’ve invested in land, and I have full trust in The House of Abhinandan Lodha. I’m glad to have made this investment,” as reported by Hindustan Times.

Abhinandan Lodha, chairman of HoABL, welcomed Kartik Aaryan to the “HoABL family,” highlighting the significance of his investment. “Our Chateau de Alibaug was the first branded land development in Alibaug. Kartik’s investment reflects the rapidly growing appeal of Alibaug as a preferred location for Mumbaikars seeking spacious and luxurious homes. This trend is evident from previous investments made by celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Kriti Sanon, and various renowned business leaders,” he stated.

Alibaug has become a highly sought-after destination for multiple Bollywood stars. Before Kartik, Amitabh Bachchan acquired a 10,000 sq ft land parcel in the area for Rs 10 crore last year, while Kriti Sanon also bought a 2,000 sq ft plot at Alibaug in the Sol de Alibaug project by HoABL.

Jenna Ortega’s Gothic Grandeur in “Wednesday” Season 2 Portraits

Jenna Ortega doesn’t just wear the night—she commands it, as proven in Sophy Holland’s haunting new portraits for Wednesday Season 2, where Victorian mourning meets modern menace (and we’re utterly transfixed).

There’s a moment, frozen in the glow of candelabras and the weight of history, when Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of Wednesday Addams transcends costume and becomes something far more potent. The newly released portraits for Wednesday Season 2, lensed by Sophy Holland, don’t merely capture a character—they bottle the essence of gothic romance, reimagined for an era obsessed with both nostalgia and subversion. This isn’t just celebrity fashion; it’s a masterclass in how to wield fabric, silhouette, and attitude as weapons of quiet rebellion.

Ortega’s ensemble is a study in contrasts: the severe, high-necked black dress—reminiscent of 19th-century mourning gowns—is rendered in layers of sheer and opaque fabric, creating a play of concealment and revelation. The voluminous skirt, structured yet fluid, cascades like ink spilled across marble floors, its mesh panels offering glimpses of skin beneath. The sleeves, puffed and dramatic, echo the silhouettes of a bygone era, but the sheer gloves add a contemporary edge, a whisper of vulnerability beneath the armor. The dress, custom-designed for the role, clings to Ortega’s frame like a second skin, its deep V-neckline a daring slash of modernity against the otherwise puritanical cut.

No Addams look is complete without its macabre flourishes. Here, the accessories are sparse but deliberate: a choker, tight and unadorned, circles her throat like a shadow, while her arms remain bare save for the gloves—no rings, no bracelets, nothing to distract from the dress’s hypnotic pull. The only concession to ornamentation? The chandelier beside her, its crystals catching the light like a scatter of shattered stars, a silent accomplice to the drama

Olivia Holt Sleek Minimalism Steals the Spotlight at US Open 2025

Olivia Holt proved that understated elegance is the new statement-maker at the US Open, where her head-to-toe black column dress—paired with an effortless, sun-kissed glow—served as a masterclass in modern celebrity style.

There’s a quiet confidence in knowing exactly how little it takes to command attention. Olivia Holt, arriving at the US Open Tennis Championships in New York City on September 3, 2025, embodied this philosophy with a look so refined it bordered on radical. No embellishments, no fuss—just the kind of effortless sophistication that makes you wonder why everyone isn’t dressing this way.

Holt’s floor-length black dress was a study in precision: strapless, body-skimming, and cut with a high slit that offered just a hint of movement. The fabric—a matte, almost liquid jersey—clung to her frame like a second skin, its simplicity belying the meticulous tailoring required to achieve such a flawless drape. The absence of hardware or embellishment let the dress’s architecture speak for itself, a testament to the quiet power of a well-cut garment. It was the kind of piece that felt both timeless and urgently modern, a uniform for the woman who knows the impact of restraint.

Olivia Holt

Holt’s approach to accessories was equally edited. A pair of strappy black heels, their thin straps echoing the dress’s minimalist lines, elongated her silhouette without competing for attention. Her only jewelry? A delicate ring and a pair of barely-there studs, the kind of details you only notice because everything else is so deliberately pared back. Even her sunglasses—perched atop her head like an afterthought—felt intentional, a nod to the off-duty cool of a woman who’s always camera-ready but never trying too hard.
