Television actor Rubina Dilaik and husband Abhinav Shukla have recently addressed the ongoing schedule debate. They have claimed that there is a need to introduce respectful working hours in television.
The working hours debate first started after Deepika Padukone exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film after a disagreement over her alleged demand for an eight-hour shift. Rubina Dilaik shared her opinion on the ongoing debate.
In a recent interview with PTI, Rubina shared that the working hours have been a struggle for her when she was new to the industry, adding, “But very rarely are we heard. If we voice our concern about it, then it becomes news… But working hours have to be respectful.”
The TV actress further shared that there were days when she worked for over 17 hours and suggested that she is not saying this because she is an actor. She elaborated and noted that even if she became a producer, she would ensure that her people work within eight hours. She added, “I’ll create a system wherein we do meaningful and good work within eight hours, and it’s a win-win thing for everyone.”

Rubina addressed the controversy and continued, “Having said that, I’ve been working for 17 hours. I’m not saying that the producer or the network should lose money. Everyone should get time to rest because their creativity will flourish. Having said that, Deepika Padukone has not made an unrealistic demand.”
However, Abhinav backed Rubina’s comment and suggested that several professions require extra hours. He also explained that it would be wrong if one were forced to do it and didn’t get paid for it.
On the work front, Rubina and Abhinav are currently starring in Pati Patni Aur Panga alongside several other popular Television couples.
