Under the direction of writer-director Mike Flanagan, Scarlett Johansson will star in the upcoming film “Exorcist.” Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Morgan Creek Entertainment, and Flanagan’s Red Room Pictures company are producing the most recent movie in the horror series.

Flanagan, who became well-known for “The Haunting of Hill House,” stated, “Scarlett is a brilliant actress whose captivating performances always feel grounded and real, from genre films to summer blockbusters, and I couldn’t be happier to have her join this Exorcist film.”

Brad Bird’s “Ray Gunn,” which will debut on Netflix, is another project in the works for Johansson. In a futuristic world where both humans and aliens live, the film tells the tale of Raymund Gunn, played by Johansson, the final human private investigator. Dana Goldberg, David Ellison, and John Lasseter are the producers.
