In the evening, Sydney Sweeney was among those honored at a gala focusing on the influence of women. The “Euphoria” actress also attracted attention with her transparent dress. She received support for this from, among others, Sharon Stone.
Sydney Sweeney made a sensational appearance in Los Angeles. At the “Variety Power of Women” gala, the 28-year-old’s outfit caused quite a stir.

The “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus” actress was among the honorees at the gala and appeared on the red carpet in a sparkling silver dress by designer Christian Cowan with a transparent bodice and no bra. She posed confidently for the cameras and, during the evening, met Jamie Lee Curtis and Sharon Stone, among others, with whom she also posed for photos.
In her speech, Sweeney emphasized the importance of women fighting and believing in themselves, especially when no one else does. And she paid special tribute to one woman: Christy R. Martin. The 57-year-old former professional boxer was the first woman to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated. In 2010, she was the victim of an attempted murder by her then-husband and manager, Jim Martin. She survived and returned to boxing. The new film “Christy” tells her life story, and Sweeney portrays Martin in it.

Shortly before the ceremony, Sweeney also spoke to Variety about the upcoming end of the third season of “Euphoria”: “It’s going to be a really bittersweet moment. I’m a little scared of how emotional it’s going to be.” Sidney Sweeney has played the role of Cassie Howard in the HBO series since the first season. “It’s been such a long journey. It’s been my entire twenties,” she summarized.
Sweeney also addressed her public image once again. When people see her as a “sex symbol” or think she’s “resting on her laurels,” she answers for herself: “No, I just feel good, I’m doing it for myself, and I feel strong.”

She immediately received support on this point from her colleague Sharon Stone: “It’s perfectly fine to accept what you have. Being attractive is a challenge, and we all understand that. It’s absolutely acceptable to use every ounce of your appeal—right here, right now—and to pursue whatever that may be. Everyone has their own form of attractiveness, their own individual qualities, and that’s what you should strive for. Because who are you to not be beautiful?”
Alongside Sydney Sweeney, other honorees at the Variety Power of Women gala included Nicole Scherzinger, Wanda Sykes, Kate Hudson, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Curtis delivered a rousing closing speech, emphasizing the vital role women play in healthcare and community support.

The event aimed to highlight that women’s influence extends beyond personal achievements. The award winners’ speeches reflected their commitment to social causes, with the goal of inspiring their female colleagues to also make a positive contribution and use their platforms to effect change.
