Among the members of generation Z, there are more and more people who choose not to wear bras, and among them is Grace Withman, who admitted that she has not worn a bra with an underwire for five years.
As she claims, she never changed her mind on the matter.”I literally threw out all my underwire bras when I finished school and never looked back,” she said.
Additionally, as the Telegraph reports, many young people are ditching bras, including Gen Z member Sydney Sweeney. British lingerie brand Dora Larsen has also seen bra sales among women aged 18 to 24 fall by 10 percent in the past two years.
The founder of this company said that generation Z is attracted to bras without wires.
“More and more people are choosing to hide just their nipples, so sales of breast tapes have increased by more than a third in the last six months,” said Georgia Larsen.
According to interviewees of the British Telegraph, such as 26-year-old nurse Floss Hensel-Bishop, bras are neither comfortable nor practical.
“The wire cuts into me, it leaves marks on my shoulders, and I don’t have much to hold on to anyway. Why should I bother,” she said.Hensel-Bishop says her main problem with bras is the social pressure to wear them, not the garment itself. She has gradually given up wearing them over the past seven years and says she still chooses to wear just a camisole.
